Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024 Unveils Nominees & Star-Studded Line-Up

Streaming giant Crunchyroll has announced the nominees for its eighth annual Anime Awards on Jan 18, 2024. Crunchyroll Anime Awards aims to recognize the outstanding achievements in Japanese animation, including honoring creators, musicians, and performances across streaming and theatrical platforms.

Fans can now cast their votes in various categories, including Anime of the Year, Best New Series, Best Film, and many more on the Anime Awards website, with voting open until Jan 27, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PT.

The winners will be announced at the live ceremony on March 2, 2024, and through a global fan livestream.

  • Che Lingo – British rapper and artist who regularly mixes genres within his music. 
  • Lena Lemon – Content creator focused on anime, cosplay and gaming.
  • Yaeji  – Artist, producer, vocalist and DJ, whose introspective, dance floor-ready tracks have made her a global icon.

Kenichiro Yoshida, Chairman and CEO of Sony Group Corporation, will return to deliver the opening remarks at the live ceremony. The event will be hosted by voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira.

Megan Thee Stallion also shared her excitement, saying, “Watching anime is one of my favorite things to do! I’m really excited for the opportunity to attend and present an award at this year’s Crunchyroll Anime Awards. I’m looking forward to traveling to Tokyo and joining my fellow anime lovers as we celebrate and honor the best anime creators and shows in the world“.

Moreover, in celebration of the Anime Awards nominees, a selection of nominated series is available for free streaming on Crunchyroll’s AVOD (Ad-Supported Video On Demand) platform until March 2, 2024.
