After 5 years on hiatus, the Terra Formars manga returns

Through this year’s seventeenth volume of the magazine Weekly Young Jump of Shueishait was confirmed that the next April 4 the manga will return Kenichi Tachibana and Yuu Sasuga, Terra Formars.

The manga will star on the cover of the eighteenth edition of the magazine with a color page and some stickers commemorating the great return of the manga. The play went on hiatus in December 2019, and the announcement at the time cited Sasuga’s health problems. Tachibana then stated on Twitter in August 2021 that the manga will resume once Sasuga has recovered from her health issues.

Synopsis of Terra Formars

While the space program attempted to travel to Mars, 21st century scientists were tasked with warming the planet so humans could survive on its surface.

They came up with an efficient and cost-effective plan to send cockroaches and mold to the surface so that the mold would absorb sunlight and the insect corpses would serve as a food source for the mold.

It is now the year 2577 and the first manned spacecraft to Mars has landed on the planet and the six crew members are ready for their mission. But what they find are giant mutated humanoid cockroaches with incredible physical strength.

The crew members are easily eliminated, but not before sending a transmission back to Earth. Now, humanity will send elite warriors to exterminate the mutated insects and reclaim Mars.
