Billboard JAPAN Hot Animation is a music chart unique to Japan, exclusively dedicated to anime music.
The chart ranks songs that are featured in TV anime, animated films, as well as songs performed by anime voice actors. By extracting and organizing these tracks, Billboard Japan Hot Animation provides a comprehensive overview of the popularity and success of anime-related music in Japan.
On June 9, 2023, Billboard Japan revealed the top 20 anime songs for the first half of 2023.
Kenshi Yonezu’s “KICK BACK,” the opening theme of Chainsaw Man anime took the top spot in the chart, with YOASOBI’s “Idol,” the opening theme of the anime Oshi no Ko coming in at 2nd place.
