Crunchyroll Launches First Indian Ad Campaign Featuring Rashmika Mandanna & Tiger Shroff

Crunchyroll has launched its first-ever marketing campaign in India. Titled “Wish Your World Was Anime,” the campaign blends live-action footage with anime sequences, featuring Tiger Shroff and Rashmika Mandanna, both of whom are Crunchyroll’s brand ambassador in India.

The ad campaigns premiered during the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is set to air digitally on JioCinema during TATA IPL matches.

Crunchyroll has also devised an extensive marketing strategy, encompassing out-of-home (OOH) promotions, digital advertising, and social media outreach.

Tilt Brand Solutions spearheaded the creative direction of the ad, while renowned Japanese studios crafted the anime segments, under the creative supervision of Crunchyroll’s Creative Services Team.

Drive Inc. handled the animation ad campaign featuring Rashmika, and features the song “Billo” by Excise Dept.

ARECT, Inc. was in charge of Tiger’s ad video. The background music for Tiger Shroff’s ad was exclusively produced by Donn Bhatt and features rapper Jagsifat.

Markus Gerdemann, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Crunchyroll, expressed his excitement about the brand’s first campaign in India, stating, “We are thrilled to announce Crunchyroll’s first brand campaign in India — a heartfelt milestone for us and the anime community here. With Tiger Shroff and Rashmika Mandanna joining us, our campaign shines a light on the power of anime as a captivating form of storytelling. India’s rich culture and its enthusiastic embrace of anime inspire us every day. What better way to debut the campaign than another milestone cultural moment – the IPL.

This campaign is more than just an announcement; it’s a reflection of our dedication to nurturing our bond with anime fans across the country. We’re celebrating our collective love for anime and supporting the fandom that makes it all so rewarding,” added Norman Rabinovich, Vice President of Creative Services.
