Solo Leveling gets the red carpet treatment from Crunchyroll in upcoming new content for the series in The Leveling of Solo Leveling.

KonoSuba Season 3 Marks the Return of an Anime Isekai Favorite

Originally released in 2016, Konosuba Season 1 introduced viewers to Kazuma Sato, an anime-obsessed shut-in who dies in an accident and is reborn into a fantasy universe. There, he embarks on a perilous journey to defeat a demon king with a beautiful goddess named Aqua at his side. According to Crunchyroll’s synopsis, Season 3 revolves around Kazuma becoming disillusioned with his adventurous life. Determined to change things, he pursues a new career as a monk. Meanwhile, his allies get a taste of luxury and fame while entertaining a local princess with tales of their adventures. The series’ release window is set for April 2024.

In contrast to KonoSuba, A Condition Called Love is a down-to-earth romance anime set in modern-day Japan. The main protagonist is Hotaru Hinase, a 16-year-old high school student who has always been skeptical about romance. One day, she encounters a popular male student named Hananoi after he has just been dumped by his girlfriend. As rain pours down, she offers to share her umbrella with him. Ultimately, this simple act of kindness leads to a “delicate dance of first love” between Hotaru and Hananoi.

Crunchyroll CEO: “We Were Responsible for Solo Leveling’s Production, Our Fans Wanted It”

In a bombshell admission from Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini, he describes how the company managed to push the Solo Leveling anime’s production through.

Kurayukaba and Kuramerukagari mark the directorial debut of Shigeyoshi Tsukahara at TeamOneOne. Both films are set in an alternate world where strange supernatural events often occur. In Kurayukaba, Detective Soutarou sets out to uncover the mystery of a strange purple haze and its connection to a mass disappearance of local citizens. His quest leads him to “Kuragari,” a massive underground labyrinth that potentially holds the answers within its depths. Meanwhile, Kuramerukagari revolves around Kagari and Yuya, two youths who dream of escaping from their labyrinth-like hometown. Eventually, a strange series of sinkhole incidents begin to occur, and the two friends decide to investigate.

Currently, Crunchyroll offers its premium anime-streaming service in over 200 major countries. Over the past few years, the company has expanded its role to encompass anime production in addition to distribution, which has already made a significant impact on the media landscape. According to Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini, A-1 Pictures’ breakout hit Solo Leveling was co-produced by Aniplex, a close partner of the prominent streaming company. “Sometimes certain stories may not be what our partners may be able to create and produce for Japanese audiences, so we step in and invest with our partners because this is something we believe strongly for our audience internationally,” stated Purini. As of Feb. 29, eight episodes of Solo Leveling have been released.
