Date A Live confirmed the premiere date of its fifth season

During the AnimeJapan 2024a new promotional video was revealed for the fifth season of the animated adaptation of the light novels “Go Live“, in which they confirm that it will have its premiere next April 10th.

In addition, they also show us a fragment of the opening theme titled “Paradoxes” and performed by Miyu Tomita.

Date A Live is a light novel series written by Koshi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako and its first publication took place in March 2011 through the publishing label Fujimi Fantasia Bunko from the publisher Fujimi Shobo. The work finished in March 2020 with a total of 22 volumes published.

Synopsis of Date A Live

Thirty years ago, a strange phenomenon called the Space Earthquake devastated central Eurasia, taking the lives of more than 150 million people. Since then, smaller space earthquakes have been occurring around the world.

Shidou Itsuka, a seemingly normal high school student, meets a girl at the epicenter of a space earthquake.

He is informed by his sister Kotori that this girl is one of the spirits that, upon making an appearance in the world, are the cause of said space earthquakes. He also learns that his sister is the captain of the ship Ratatoskr.

She recruits him in order to make use of his mysterious ability to seal the powers of spirits. In order to prevent them from becoming a threat to humanity. However, there is a drawback. To seal the powers of a Spirit, Shidou must make it fall in love with him.
