This week it has been confirmed through an article on the American portal TheHollywood Reporter, about the person in charge of directing the film adaptation of the popular anime and manga created by Justin Lin, the filmmaker behind half of the films in Fast and furiouswould be chosen to direct the live-action adaptation of One Punch Man for the producer sony pictures. Recall that the project was announced since 2020.
Lin’s hiring comes weeks after the high-profile departure of the director of Fast X from Universal Pictures, which experienced an unusual situation in which the director voluntarily abandoned a shoot that was already in production. Lin is known for having directed five Fast and Furious films, starting with the third installment, Fast and Furious: Tokyo Challenge (2006) and including the ninth film in the franchise in 2021.
One Punch Man began in 2009 by the artist known as ONE, starting out as a web manga, and moving to Jump Next publisher in 2012. The story centers on a superhero named Saitama. He has the power to defeat any enemy with a single blow, but he soon gets bored and looks for a bigger challenge. As the manga gained notoriety, it obtained both anime and video game adaptations.

The story takes place in a fictional metropolis known as City Z, in Japan. The world is invaded by strange monsters that mysteriously appear and cause numerous disasters to the population. Saitama is a powerful bald superhero who easily defeats monsters or other villains with a single punch from his fist. Because of this, Saitama has found his strength boring and is always trying to find more powerful opponents who can match him.
