During the promotional event of One Piece Live Action Season 1 the cast of the series was answering questions in which when asked who is the biggest fan of the One Piece Manga series, the entire cast simultaneously pointed at Emily Rudd.
Emily who plays the character of Nami in the One Piece Live-action accepted that she is a One Piece nerd however she also mentions that the showrunner Matt Owens is the real nerd and he knows the entirety of the manga.
During the interview the cast also pointed out Inaki as the most character-like cast member, meaning, Inaki Godoy is more like Luffy in his real life as well.

Also, season 2 of the One Piece Live Action series was recently announced and to commemorate the moment, Emily Rudd, the rising star sent out a heartwarming message to the fans of the series.
Emily posted on her Instagram story thanking all the fans of the One Piece Live Action series for making it the most trending series on Netflix as well as for supporting the series which led to the announcement of the second season.
She posted, ” I’m so happy. Thank y’all we love you so so so much” with a picture of herself seemingly overwhelmed by the news.
This isn’t the first time Rudd has taken to social media to post her excitement related to the series. When she was announced to be chosen for the role of Nami, Emily giddily posted that on her Instagram and also changed her Instagram display picture to that of Nami.
The official Twitter account of One Piece live-action released a special video featuring the creator Eiichiro Oda announcing exciting news to all the fans.
Netflix on September 15, 2023, revealed in a special video that Netflix has renewed One Piece live-action series for a second season. The video ended with an illustration of Chopper drawn by Oda.
Chopper will also be joining the Strawhat crew in season 2 of the series.
No official release date for One Piece live-action season 2 has been confirmed yet.
According to Oda, it’ll take a while to get the scripts ready. However, it was previously revealed that the scripts for the live-action adaptation’s second season were completed.
Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece started streaming on the platform on August 31, 2023.
The cast includes Iñaki Godoy, who portrays Monkey D. Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar will play Sanji. Colton Osorio will portray a young Luffy.
Furthermore, Peter Gadiot will play Shanks, Morgan Davies as Koby, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Alvida, Aidan Scott as Helmeppo, Jeff Ward as Buggy, McKinley Belcher III as Arlong, and Vincent Regan as Garp.
The other cast members include:

- Craig Fairbrass as Chef Zeff
- Langley Kirkwood as Captain Morgan

It was previously revealed that the original Japanese voice actors will be returning to portray their characters for the Japanese dub of the live-action adaptation
The live-action adapted the East-Blue Saga from the One Piece manga and then “broaden from there”. Matt Owens will serve as the upcoming show’s writer, while Steven Maeda and Becky Clements will be executive producers along with Eiichiro Oda.
The soundtrack for the live-action, titled “Wealth, Fame, Power,” is composed by Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli, best known for their work on “The Witcher“.
Netflix will exclusively stream the series, produced by Tomorrow Studios, a partnership between producer Marty Adelstein and ITV Studios.
According to Tomorrow Studios (distributors of One Piece live-action) President Becky Clements, Season 2 could be ready in “somewhere between a year and 18 months” once the writers and actors strike end (via Variety).
The live-action adaptation was under production in South Africa since Feb 1, 2022.
