The official website of the currently airing Frieren: Beyond Journey anime announced on Oct 13, 2023, that the upcoming episode 7, set to air on Oct 20, will introduce a new arc titled “Aura the Guillotine”.
To commemorate the announcement, a new visual and four new cast members have been revealed. The cast members announced are the demon characters introduced in the “Aura the Guillotine Arc”.

It’s both an honor and a bit nerve-wracking to be a part of the much-talked-about ‘Frieren: Beyond Journey.’ Aura, a high-ranking officer directly under the Demon Lord’s command, is an ancient demon who’s lived for over 500 years. Despite her charming demeanor, she’s got an intimidating side. I’m curious to see how she’ll face off against Frieren. Please look forward to it!

The anime adaptation of Sousou No Frieren was announced in the manga’s 9th volume, which was shipped on Sep 15, 2022.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a Japanese manga series written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday since April 2020, with its chapters collected in nine tankobon volumes as of September 2022.
The series is licensed for English release in North America by Viz Media.
As of September 2022, the manga had over 7.2 million copies in circulation. In 2021, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End won the 14th Manga Taisho and the New Creator Prize of the 25th annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize.

The demon king has been defeated, and the victorious hero party returns home before disbanding. The four—mage Frieren, hero Himmel, priest Heiter, and warrior Eisen—reminisce about their decade-long journey as the moment to bid each other farewell arrives. But the passing of time is different for elves, thus Frieren witnesses her companions slowly pass away one by one.
Before his death, Heiter manages to foist a young human apprentice called Fern onto Frieren. Driven by the elf’s passion for collecting a myriad of magic spells, the pair embarks on a seemingly aimless journey, revisiting the places that the heroes of yore had visited. Along their travels, Frieren slowly confronts her regrets of missed opportunities to form deeper bonds with her now-deceased comrades.
