Anime streaming service HIDIVE announced a change in its service availability in certain regions outside of North America on their official website on Nov 13, 2023.

According to the website, HIDIVE’s service will no longer be accessible in specific areas outside of North America from Dec 14, 2023. However, users in affected regions will still have full access to HIDIVE’s content library until Dec 31, 2023.

Although the reason for the sudden discontinuation was not specified, it was revealed that the platform came to the decision after “constantly evaluating the HIDIVE offering and area of operation”.

“We are constantly evaluating the HIDIVE offering and our area of operation and unfortunately, the service will no longer be available in certain areas outside of North America, as of 12/14/2023. Going forward, we will endeavor to make our content available to you via local platforms when possible. Please note that you will have full access to our content library on our website www.hidive.com through 12/31/2023. We sincerely appreciate your business and apologize for the inconvenience.“

It was previously revealed that American entertainment company Sentai Filmworks had sealed a major deal with Japanese television broadcasting company MBS to exclusively stream their future anime content on HIDIVE platform.

HIDIVE is a subscription video on demand service focused around streaming anime.

After the discontinuation of Anime Network Online in 2017, Hidive, LLC, a new company acquired the service’s assets and spun them off into a new streaming service called HIDIVE.
