FANTASISTA, INC. and Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd (DNP) announced on Nov 15, 2023, the official launch of Manga Planet India- an online English-language manga-reading service catering to Indian audience.

The platform went live on Nov 15, 2023, and offers popular titles from Kodansha, such as Attack on Titan by Hajime Isayama, Chihayafuru by Yuki Suetsugu, Tokyo Revengers by Ken Wakui, and The Quintessential Quintuplets by Negi Haruba.

While the platform is starting off with Kodansha titles, it was revealed that titles from other publishers will gradually be added to the service.

The Manga Planet India subscription service offers a one-month plan, the Manga Planet.in Pass, priced at 99 INR (approximately 1.2 USD). Additionally, readers have the option to digitally purchase titles using the Points system.

Hirotsugu Takano, Manga Planet Director, expressed his excitement on the launch, stating, “From the very beginning, we had aimed to start with a global version of our service, then to gradually create localized versions for certain countries or regions. We are delighted to be able to make this idea a reality, and we hope that this service will meet Indian readers’ needs”.

To commemorate the launch of the platform, Manga Planet India, along with Manga Shakti, will be present at Bengaluru Comic Con (Nov 17–19, 2023) and Delhi Comic Con (Dec 8–10, 2023). Attendees will have the opportunity to get to know more about the service, purchase gift codes to subscribe to Manga Planet India, and get free items such as an event-exclusive magazine.
