Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms introduces its protagonist and its first trailer

The official website from the romantic comedy Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms (Kuroiwa Medaka and Watashi no Kawaii ga Tsujinai) revealed the anime’s first promotional video on Thursday, as well as the schedule for the series’ debut in 2025.

The first character video was also presented, focusing this time on the protagonist, Mona:

The videos also reveal the two main cast members: Yu Serizawa like Mona Kawai and Ryōta Iwasaki as Medaka Kuroiwa.

Yoshiaki Okumura (My Life Had It Made, Elementhunters, Monsuno) directs the anime in Synergy SP. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (By the Grace of the Gods, Dropkick on My Devil!) is in charge of the scripts for the series.

Synopsis: Mona is the cutest girl in school, and she knows it. In fact, she’s worked hard to make her high school debut a success. But no matter what she does, she can’t catch the eye of the stoic Medaka Kuroiwa, but she’s not about to give up that easily. Medaka, on the other hand, was raised in a temple and told never to approach women. Who will win in this heated battle of wills?

Ran Kuze (Tokyo Ravens: Sword of Song) first published the manga as a one-shot story in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine of Kodansha in December 2020.

The manga began its full serialization in the magazine in May 2021. Kodansha published the manga’s first compiled volume in Japan in August 2021, and it is currently on its 14th published volume.
