What is MF Ghost about?

The series is set in the 2020s, when self-driving cars are ubiquitous in Japan. The manga centers on Kanata Livington, a Japanese driver who returns to Japan after graduating at the top of his class from a racing school in England. The series also focuses on the MFG, a public road racing circuit that has garnered attention around the world.

Shuichi Shigenocreator of Initial Dlaunched the manga MF Ghost in the magazine Young Magazine from Kodansha in September 2017. The 20th compiled book volume shipped in Japan on June 6. The manga went on hiatus in November 2022 due to Shigeno’s poor health, but returned in February 2023. The manga had gone on hiatus again in April, then returned in June and began its “final battle.”

Initial D, the manga on which the story is based in part as a “prequel,” inspired several television anime series, a live-action film, several original video anime projects, and a successful line of games. It also spawned a trilogy of anime films, the third of which premiered in February 2016.

Crunchyroll has the first season available with Spanish subtitles.
