The official website of Naruto announced on June 28, 2023, that Minato Namikaze’s new one-shot manga will release on July 18, 2023, in the 55th anniversary issue of Weekly Shonen Jump issue #33.
The new one-shot will contain 55 pages, and is titled “NARUTO Gaiden: Uzu no Naka no Tsumujikaze“. The official English title is yet to be announced.
Naruto Uzumaki’s father, Minato Namikaze had been crowned the winner for the first NARUTO worldwide character popularity vote, NARUTOP99, which ran from Dec 18, 2022, to Jan 31, 2023.
NARUTOP99 was carried out as part of Naruto anime’s 20th anniversary celebrations!
Based on the manga series of the same name by Masashi Kishimoto, Naruto anime began airing on Oct 3, 2002. Produced by Studio Pierrot and Aniplex, the first part of Naruto anime aired from 2002 to 2007 with 220 episodes. A sequel titled Naruto: Shippuden began airing the same year, and continued till 2017 before ending.
Naruto: Shippuden aired for a total of 500 episodes.
The main story then continued, focusing on the younger generation, with Naruto’s son Boruto, playing the titular character in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village.
The series is based on two one-shot manga by Kishimoto: Karakuri (1995), which earned Kishimoto an honorable mention in Shueisha’s monthly Hop Step Award the following year, and Naruto (1997).
Naruto was serialized in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump from 1999 to 2014, with its chapters collected in 72 tankobon volumes.
