Monogatari Gets New Anime for Off Season and Monster Season! | Anime News

The Monogatari will be back with an anime adapting the original Off Season and Monster Season novels!

In addition to a teaser video, a visual created by character designer Akio Watanabe was revealed.

Off Season and Monster Season make up the Monogatari series’ fourth and fifth sagas respectively.

The project was previously teased as O and M. While an airdate is yet to be revealed, production has been confirmed for this year.

Written by Nisio Isin and illustrated by Vofan, the Monogatari light novel series began in 2005 and has continued with over 20 volumes. The story follows Koyomi Araragi, a boy who becomes involved with various girls affected by mysterious “oddities.”

It has received various anime adaptations, beginning with Bakemonogatari in 2009. Most recently, Zoku Owarimonogatari, the final part of the overall series’ third saga – referred to as the “Final Season” – was released in theaters in November 2018.
