My Hero Academia Manga To End In 5 Chapters; Kohei Horikoshi Reveals Heartfelt Message To Fans!
The official X account of Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia revealed that the manga will conclude in just five chapters.
The final chapter is set to be published in the combined Issue 36-37 of Weekly Shonen Jump, slated for release on Aug 5, 2024.
The announcement comes alongside a message from series creator Kohei Horikoshi, who apologized for a two-week hiatus due to scheduling difficulties, and assured fans that the remaining five chapters will be exciting for everyone.
He also expressed his gratitude to readers for their support over the past decade, acknowledging the series’ nearly ten-year run.
Checkout Horikoshi’s message below:
Sorry for the two-week break! My schedule got all piled up like a mille-feuille! There are just 5 chapters left until the end. Some might think, “There’s still 5 chapters left?!” while others might think, “Only 5 chapters left?!” but I’ll do my best to make sure both sides enjoy the last 5 chapters! Together with Deku and the others!
It was a bumpy road, but I was able to draw Deku and his friends for nearly 10 years thanks to everyone who kept reading. It was like a dream. Thank you so much!
Well then! Let’s meet again in Jump!
My Hero Academia had gone on a 2-week hiatus, and is set to return on July 1, 2024.
Horikoshi had previously stated during Jump Festa 2024 that the manga will end within a year. He also jokingly said that if My Hero Academia continued till Jump Festa 2025 next year, then a Dogeza festival will be held on the stage.

The series has numerous spin-off manga, including My Hero Academia: Smash!!, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes and My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions.
It has also been adapted into an anime television series by Bones. The first season aired in Japan from April to June 2016, followed by a second season from April to September 2017, then a third season from April to September 2018, a fourth season from October 2019 to April 2020, a fifth season from March to September 2021, a sixth season from October 2022 to March 2023, and a seventh season which premiered in May 2024.
It has also received three animated films, titled My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, and My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission, and nine original video animations (OVAs).
A fourth animated film, titled My Hero Academia: You’re Next, is set to be released in August 2024.
