“Naruto”, one of the most iconic works in the history of anime and manga, will officially have a live action adaptation in cinematographic film formatbeing a big bet on the part of the Lionsgate production company and already having a director at the helm of this live action adaptation.

This weekend, lovers of anime and Shōnen manga had a lot to celebrate, because thanks to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, a live-action film adaptation of Masashi Kishimoto’s magnum opus is officially confirmed, better known asnaruto. This live action adaptation about the blonde ninja from Konohagakure already has a director, Destin Daniel Cretton.. Who will also assume the role of co-writer for this ambitious production. Creaton is known for his work as co-writer and director of the Marvel Studios film “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” The adaptation has been in development with Lionsgate since late 2015 and Cretton’s boarding marks an important step forward in bringing it to the screen.

It should be noted that Cretton already has the blessing of Masashi Kishimoto himself, writer and illustrator of the original manga, something he granted him after a visit to Tokyo. However, it was not known for certain whether Kishimoto expressed in an additional statement whether he feels really confident about the choice of Creatton as the head of the project.

When I found out about Destin’s attachment, it was right after watching a hit action movie of his, and I thought he would be the perfect director for Naruto,” Kishimoto said in a statement. “After enjoying his other films and understanding that his strength is creating solid dramas about people, I was convinced that there is no other director for Naturo. When I met Destin, I also discovered that he was an open-minded director who was willing to accept my input and felt strongly that we could cooperate together in the production process.”.

Additionally, the president of Lionsgate, Adam Fogelson, also joined in this exciting announcement, stating that he feels full confidence in Destin as the leader of this new project in the “Naruto” franchise. I express that the writer and director has given it a vision that will fascinate and satisfy the millions of fans of the work, at the same time that will excite those who are new to it. Cretton previously collaborated with Lionsgate to direct the 2017 feature film The Glass Castle. Lionsgate regular James Myers, who oversaw the aforementioned project, will also supervise Naruto, along with executive Jon Humphrey.
