Netflix announces the start of filming for the second season of the live-action One Piece

After a successful first season, Netflix announced this Monday the start of production of season 2 of One Piecethe popular live-action adventure series, through a video in which they reunite in Cape TownSouth Africa, the Straw Hats:

Season 1 cast members returning for Season 2 also include Ilia Isorelys Paulino like Alvida, Jeff Ward like Buggy and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger, who will accompany Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp) and Taz Skylar (Sanji)

Previously announced new cast members include: Brendan Sean Murray like Brogy, Callum Kerr like Smoker, Camrus Johnson like Mr. 5, Clive Russell like Crocus, Daniel Lasker like Mr. 9, David Dastmalchian like Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn like Miss Valentine, Julia Rehwald like Tashigi, Rob Colletti like Wapol, Ty Keogh like Dalton and Werner Coetser as Dorry. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

About the live-action of One Piece

One Piece is a live-action high-seas adventure series created in association with Shueisha and produced by Tomorrow Studios (partner of ITV Studios) and Netflix.

Synopsis: One Piece is a legendary and unrivaled tale of adventure on the high seas. Monkey D. Luffy is a young boy who, for as long as he can remember, dreams of a life of freedom. Soon, he leaves his village and embarks on a dangerous journey in search of the mythical hidden treasure known as One Piece, which can help him become the Pirate King. But to achieve his goal, the first thing he must do is gather the crew he always wanted, and with them get a ship, travel every inch of the vast sea, stay ahead of the Navy and outwit every dangerous rival that crosses his path.

Matt Owens and Joe Tracz They are the co-showrunners and screenwriters, as well as executive producers along with the same Eiichiro Oda. Executive producers include Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes and Steven Maeda. The live-action series does not currently have a release date set.
