New Footage Of Asuka From Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.11 Released

The new bonus footage included in the Blu-ray Disc (BD) and DVD Shin Evangelion the movie EVANGELION: 3.0 + 1.11 THRICE UPON A TIME of the new theater version of the popular anime Evangelion series Shin Evangelion the Movie (directed by Hideaki Anno) EVANGELION: 3.0+1.11 has been released. This completely new video depicts Asuka wearing a blindfold, as well as a mysterious girl.

A BD and DVD PR video 3.0 + 1.11 Promotion Reel was also released on YouTube. The video depicts a number of memorable scenes with the song “the path” by Shiro Sagisu, which was used in the film.

The BD and DVD will include the 3.0 + 1.11 version of the film.

The film was released in March 2021, and the “3.0 + 1.01” version, a partially adjusted version of “3.0 + 1.0,” was shown from June of the same year. The “3.0 + 1.11” version is a further adjusted version of the “3.0 + 1.01” version.

The limited first edition BD is priced at 17,980 yen, the standard edition BD at 8,580 yen, and the DVD at 8,580 yen, and will be released on March 8.

EVANGELION:3.0+1.11 THRICE UPON A TIME grossed 6 billion yen at the box office and drew 3.96 million viewers in the 21 days since its release on March 8, 2021. It also broke the record of its previous version EVANGELION:3.0+1.0, which grossed around 5.3 billion yen and attracted around 2.9 million people.

On May 6, it surpassed the 8.28 billion yen mark at the box office. It surpassed the final box office revenue of Shin Godzilla (2016), for which Anno wrote the script and served as general director, at approximately 8.25 billion yen, setting a new record for Anno’s work.

It also broke the 10 billion yen mark at the box office in the 127 days since its release.

Evangelion is set in the Third New Tokyo City, where the main character Shinji Ikari and his friends battle the mysterious enemy “Angels” in the humanoid battle weapon Evangelion. The TV series Neon Genesis Evangelion was broadcast from 1995 to 1996, followed by a film version.
