Crunchyroll’s new Solo Leveling special reveals images that heavily imply an upcoming Season 2 or second cour of the anime.

The new Solo Leveling documentary, The Leveling of Solo Leveling, has sparked intense conversation following its reveal of the character Beru, who first appears in Solo Leveling Chapter 105 in the manhwa. With the anime series currently set to stop long before then, many fans on social media are convinced that this is evidence of plans for a second season. Crunchyroll’s Solo Leveling Special Is Arguably Evidence of a Season 2

This is arguably the strongest evidence yet of Season 2. The inclusion of Beru’s character sheet is likely also a part of the Solo Leveling production team’s approach to “adding extra meat to the story,” as producer Sota Furuhashi commented. As they were discussing necessary changes to the manhwa, director Shunsuke Nakashige added, “There were characters who didn’t show up in the webtoon. They’d be brought up in dialog but wouldn’t appear in the artwork, so we would ask, ‘Well, what are they like?'” With Beru’s upcoming role being a major one, the anime staff may already be looking at how best to foreshadow his character and incorporate him into the story.

Solo Leveling fans had already long suspected a continuation of the series. The show was one of the most anticipated anime adaptations, with over 14 billion views for the source material. Comments from Netmarble’s CEO, whose company is a producer for both the Solo Leveling game and anime, stoked expectations when he referred to the ongoing series as ‘the first season.’
