NieR: Automata Anime Unveils Stunning Second Cour Visual! | Anime News
NieR: Automata Ver1.1a has revealed a stunning visual for its second cour, which is set for release this year!
Starring 2B, the visual was specially illustrated by Jun Nakai, the anime’s character designer and chief animation director.
Developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix, NieR: Automata was first released in February 2017 as a spin-off and sequel for the 2010 game Nier and went on to sell over 6 million copies. While it has previously inspired stage plays and novels, the upcoming TV anime series is its first anime adaptation.
Titled Nier: Automata Ver1.1a, the anime is directed by Ryoji Masuyama and produced by A-1 Pictures. Yui Ishikawa and Natsuki Hanae have returned to voice the roles of 2B and 9S respectively.
The first cour ran from January to July 2023, with the final four episodes airing back to back, after which production for the second cour was announced.
NieR: Automata Ver1.1a’s second cour will air sometime this year.
