Ninja Kamui and his dubbing were a huge disappointment

A few weeks ago it was confirmed that the second season of the original anime is already in production. Ninja Kamuione of the series that captured the attention of fans the most last season.

The series was the center of attention for both fans and new viewers. The fact that it is an “Original from the Director of Jujutsu Kaisen” already gave it a considerable handicap, in addition to having the backing of Adult Swim. It seemed to be a perfect series, and that is what it was during the first episodes.

Without going into spoilers, the series has a very clear and concise introduction: something bad is going to happen. During the first episode, the viewer feels a “false calm”, or rather, a “discomfort”. The first episode kicks off what we thought at the time would be a series of 12 episodes, each one better than the last. But nothing could be further from the truth: the series was declining week after week.

One of the biggest problems, in my opinion, was the way the story was told. I don’t know if it happened to you like it did to me, but you didn’t know what direction the series would take. At first I thought it would follow a specific path, then they introduced a few robots into the plot, added to a company with evil purposes. It’s normal that the viewer gets confused and ends up understanding little or nothing.

Another of the weakest points was the animation during the action moments. During the fights, the drawing quality was quite bad, although this was not even close to the worst thing the series had.

Aside from all the script and animation problems, the weakest point was the Latin dubbing. The series features high-calibre names such as Juan Manuel Diaz, Charles the Second, Rodolfo Navarro, Monserrat Perez either Jessica Segura. Personally I think the voices are well chosen for the characters, there is no mismatchbut I think the direction failed; as it is quite poor in terms of acting.

I honestly don’t think it’s the actors’ fault, because we can hear these same actors giving impressive performances in other projects, but here I feel that something was missing. It didn’t generate the same feeling for me listening to them in Japanese as in Spanish. The characters needed to be ‘detailed’ or ‘explained’.

All of this added up to the series being quite weak, if not bad. At the moment, what is known about the second season is very little, let’s hope that all this changes for the next part of the series, since it has a lot of potential to exploit. At the dubbing level, the truth is that there is not much that can be done, just give our opinion and invite you to tell us yours, leave it here below or in the comments on our social networks.
