Re:Zero Season 3 Unveils First Key Visual

The official website of  Re:Zero revealed the first key visual for the upcoming third season of the anime on Feb 27, 2024. The visual showcases Subaru, Beatrice, and Emilia donning her bride attire, hinting at the challenges that await them in the enigmatic Water Gate City of Priestella.

Moreover, it was also revealed that during the ‘Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World‘ 3rd season Special Stage at AnimeJapan 2024 on March 24, 2024, new information, including the latest footage of the third season, will be revealed.

The plot of Re:Zero Season 3 is described as:

“A year has passed since the liberation of the ‘Sanctuary,’ achieved through Subaru’s fierce battle against the attacking Elsa and his contract with Beatrice during the confrontation with the Great Rabbit. The Emilia camp, preparing for the royal selection, had been enjoying peaceful and fulfilling days with everyone united.

However, that tranquility comes to an end when a single letter arrives, delivered by a messenger. The letter is an invitation addressed to Emilia from Anastasia to the city of water gates, Priestella, one of the five major cities of Lugunica and a candidate for the royal selection.

Accepting the invitation, Subaru and his companions head to Priestella, where various reunions await them. Some are unexpected, some are unintentional, and one is yet to come. Beneath the surface, malevolent forces stir, and an unprecedented crisis looms.

Once again, the young man faces a harsh and challenging fate.“

More details on Re:Zero season 3 are yet to be revealed.

Re:Zero season 1 of the anime adaptation, produced by White Fox, aired from April to September 2016, starting with an hour-long special. The first of two OVA based on the series was released in October 2018, and the second OVA was released in November 2019.

A second season aired in a split-cour format, with the first half airing from July to September 2020, and the second half airing from January to March 2021.

Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World is a Japanese light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shin’ichiro Otsuka. The series was initially serialized on the website Shosetsuka ni Naro from 2012 onwards.

Thirty-two light novels, as well as five side story volumes and eight short story collections have been published by Media Factory under their MF Bunko J imprint.

Volume 33 will release on March 29, 2023.

The series’ first three arcs have been adapted into separate manga series. The first, by Daichi Matsue, was published between June 2014 and March 2015. The second, by Makoto Fugetsu, has been published by Square Enix since October 2014. Matsue launched the third adaptation, also published by Media Factory, in May 2015. Additionally, Media Factory has published two anthology manga with stories by different artists.
