Following the prolonged hiatus of RuriDragon manga, it has been revealed on Feb 21, 2024, that the series is set to resume its publication in a new format.

The announcement, made by the editorial department of Weekly Shonen Jump, expressed regret for the extended break and the inconvenience it caused to the readers. The publisher went on to reveal that after discussing with the mangaka it has been decided that RuriDragon will transition to serialization in the digital version of Weekly Shonen Jump, along with the Jump+ platform.

However, before the transition into the digital format, five chapters of RuriDragon (7-11) will be published in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine weekly from March 4, 2024, until April 1, 2024.

From chapter 12 onwards, the manga will be published in every other issue starting on April 22, 2024, digitally.

RuriDragon had gone on an extended hiatus due to author’s poor health. The manga went on hiatus in issue #35 of Weekly Shonen Jump.

RuriDragon is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masaoki Shindo. It was originally a one-shot published in Shueisha’s Jump Giga magazine in December 2020, before being serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump starting in June 2022.

Its chapters have been collected into a single tankobon volume as of October 2022.

The English translated version of the manga is published in Shueisha’s MANGA PLUS service. The manga’s North American release is handled by Viz Media.

Viz describes the plot of manga as follows:

Ruri faces the usual issues: pushy classmates, annoying teachers and…waking up with dragon horns?!
