The official X account of the upcoming Sakamoto Days anime unveiled six new cast members that will be voicing the characters Shin Asakura, Lu Shaotang, Aoi Sakamoto, Hana Sakamoto, Heisuke Mashimo, and Piisuke.
Checkout the newly announced voice cast and their comments below:
- Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shin Asakura
Comment:
I’m Nobunaga Shimazaki, and I’ll be voicing Asakura Shin. Recording has already begun, and I’m having so much fun with every episode. I’m really looking forward to going to the recording studio. I, the unworthy Nobunaga Shimazaki, will do my best for Sakamoto Days and Sakamoto! Please look forward to it!
- Ayane Sakura as Lu Shaotang
Comment:
I will be voicing Lu. I’ve had the opportunity to unleash the Chinese girl dialogue that I seem to have genetically imprinted. I’ll do my best to not get lost among the unique members. Please enjoy the dangerous and hilarious everyday lives of Sakamoto and his friends in the anime as well!
- Nao Toyama as Aoi Sakamoto
Comment:
I’m Nao Toyama, and I will be playing Aoi Sakamoto. This work is full of high tension, is exhilarating, and I think the charm lies in how each character shines vividly. During the recording, I felt that each cast member was striving to leave their mark… and as the story progresses, the plot becomes more and more thrilling. And personally, this is my first time playing a mother…! Thank you in advance!
- Hina Kino as Hana Sakamoto
Comment:
Hana-chan is a bright and energetic girl who has grown up receiving plenty of love from her mother and father! I played her so that she could be a little relaxed amidst the powerful action and comical scenes. Please enjoy the unique and charming characters that you won’t forget once you see them!
- Ryota Suzuki as Heisuke Mashimo
Comment:
I’m Ryota Suzuki, and I’ll be voicing Heisuke Mashimo. I really love the battle scenes created from the original manga’s dynamic compositions, so I’m happy to be able to participate in such a super cool action work. Heisuke is a really, really nice guy who is skilled in sniping, cares about his comrades, and has a pure heart. But he’s a hard worker. He’s really, really struggling! Please, please give him a lot of support!!! Thank you!!!
Comment:
Actually, I’m really nervous because this is my first time playing an animal role… lol. Even though I won’t be speaking human language, I’ll do my best to convey Piisuke’s feelings not only to Heisuke but also to everyone. Please look forward to Piisuke working hard as Heisuke’s partner! Peep!
It was previously revealed that Tomokazu Sugita, who is known for portraying Gintoki Sakata, will voice the titular character Taro Sakamoto.
The staff also revealed character introduction videos for Shin Asakura, Lu Shaotang, Aoi, Hana, and Heisuke.
Sakamoto Days will start airing in January 2025. The anime will also be streamed worldwide on Netflix, with the episodes releasing on a weekly basis.
TMS Entertainment, the studio behind Detective Conan, Fruits Basket (2019), and Dr. Stone, is set to handle the animation production for Sakamoto Days anime.
Masaki Watanabe will serve as the director, with Taku Kishimoto in charge of series composition, and Yo Moriyama will handle the character designs.
