That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Movie Earns 960 Million Yen

The That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime movie earned 960 million yen i.e. ~ USD 6.95 million as of December 15.

The movie has sold over 730,000 tickets. The official website of the anime streamed the first 6 minutes and 30 seconds of the movie to commemorate the milestone.

The movie earned 297 million yen on its opening weekend with 225,000 admissions.

The first 300,000 moviegoers from December 9 received an illustration card featuring Diablo and Violet. The illustration is drawn by anime’s character designer Ryoma Ebata.

Streaming giant Crunchyroll had earlier announced on June 29, 2022 that it will screen That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime: Scarlet Bond (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Guren no Kizuna) movie in “all major global territories” (except Asia) in early 2023.

The theme song of the movie was also released earlier which is performed by MindaRyn.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime light novels, also known as TenSura, are written by Fuse, and illustrated by Mitz Vah. The story is about a salaryman who is murdered and reincarnates in a sword and sorcery world as a slime with unique powers and gathers allies to build his own nation of monsters.

Twenty volumes have been released as of September 2022. The light novel has been licensed in North America by Yen Press, who published the first volume in December 2017.

An anime adaptation by by Eight Bit aired from October 2018 to March 2019. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2 aired from January to September 2021.

The staff of the anime announced on the official website on Nov 9, 2022, that the series will be returning for a 3rd season.

A new key visual featuring Hinata Sakaguchi confronting Rimuru has also been unveiled to commemorate the announcement.
