The Boy and the Heron, the latest film by Studio Ghibli and legendary anime director Hayao Miyazaki, has been out for almost five months, but it’s still capturing the attention of fans worldwide. Now, you can relive the magic (or get a peek before it’s released in your area) with a full music video for the theme song, “Spinning Globe” by Kenshi Yonezu!
The video not only features countless scenes from the actual film, but also includes subtitles in English, Chinese, French, and more.
Produced by Studio Ghibli with music by Joe Hisaishi, the film premiered in Japan on July 14, 2023, without any traditional publicity, leaving fans with only an official poster. It then made its international premiere on September 7 at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Soma Santoki stars as Mahito Maki alongside Masaki Suda as the Grey Heron and Aimyon as Himi.
For the English dub, Luca Padovan stars as Mahito alongside Christian Bale as Shoichi, Dave Bautista as the Parakeet King, and Gemma Chan as Natsuko.
The Boy and the Heron is currently screening in Japan, the US, and more.
