The Flower and Asura manga will premiere an anime adaptation in 2025

This Thursday a Web page to announce the anime adaptation of Flower and Asura (Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku), based on the writer’s manga Ayano Takeda (Sound! Euphonium) and the artist Musshu (Furidashi ni Ochiro). The website also revealed the first visual of the anime:

The anime is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2025. The manga’s artist, Mushuu, drew an illustration to celebrate the announcement:

The anime will star Minori Fujidera as Hana Haruyama (on the right of the visual), and Miyuri Shimabukuro as Mizuki Usurai (on the left of the visual).

Ayumu Uwano (episode director of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation II, ONIMAI) directs the anime in Studio Bind. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Do It Yourself!!, Dropkick on My Devil!, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) is in charge of the scripts for the series, and Kou Aine (Comet Freyline: Prologue) designs the characters.

What is Flower and Asura about?

The story of the manga is set in Tonakishima, a small island of 600 inhabitants. Hana, a high school girl who lives on the island, loves recitals and regularly organizes reading sessions for the island’s children. Mizuki, the president of the Broadcasting Club senses Hana’s power to attract people through her reading and invites her to join the club. Hana joins the Broadcasting Club and has many first experiences with the other members.

Takeda and Musshu launched the manga in the magazine Ultra Jump of Shueisha in June 2021. The first compiled volume of the manga was published in January 2022, and the seventh volume will go on sale on June 19.

Takeda is known for her first novel, Sound! Euphonium in 2013, which also had an anime adaptation, the last season of which debuted this past April 7.
