The official X account of Netflix unveiled a new teaser trailer for The Summer Hikaru Died anime on Nov 27, 2024.
The streaming giant also confirmed that the anime will be available globally on its platform, excluding Japan, with Netflix only teasing it as “coming soon”.
The anime, however, is scheduled to release in Japan in 2025. The exact date is yet to be revealed.

The Summer Hikaru Died is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Mokumokuren. It began serialization on Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace Up website in August 2021. As of June 2024, the series’ individual chapters have been collected in five tankobon volumes.
Mokumokuren first conceived of the series while studying for exams and later began posting drawings on Twitter, which led to the Young Ace Up editorial department approaching Mokumokuren to serialize the manga via the Young Ace Up website.
