Tite Kubo, the author of Bleach manga, revealed in an interview with Viz media that an anime original arc from the series really surprised him, thanks to the amazingly directed sequences in it.

In the interview, Kubo was asked about his favorite moments from the Bleach anime. In response, Kubo mentioned that it was an anime original arc in Bleach, something for which he had no high hopes, that he really came to appreciate very much.

“I think its called the Invasion Army Arc,” Kubo said. “I honestly didn’t have high hopes for the anime-original arcs, but this one really surprised me.”

“There are some amazingly directed sequences in that arc, and I really appreciate that,” the Bleach mangaka added.

Kubo added that he was most excited for the battle between Yhwach and Genryusai in the upcoming Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War anime.

“From what I have seen so far, I think that [Yhwach and Genryusai] battle scene is going to look amazing. That’s something everyone can look forward to,” Kubo said.

The creator also said that he is hoping to include battle scenes in the anime, that were previously omitted in the manga.

“I had decided in my head to end the manga in 15 years, & with so many characters appearing in the last arc, there were many battle scenes that never made it to the manga. So I hope to help insert those scenes back in as much as possible,” Kubo told in the interview.

The Jump Festa ’22 Bleach panel event revealed in Dec 2021 that the Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War anime will premiere as a television anime in October 2022. The event also confirmed that the adaptation will cover the rest of the original manga up through its ending.

new trailer and key visual was released for the anime at Anime Expo 2022.

Bleach is a Japanese anime television series based on Tite Kubo’s original manga series of the same name. It was produced by Studio Pierrot and directed by Noriyuki Abe. The series aired on TV Tokyo from October 2004 to March 2012, spanning 366 episodes. The anime adaptation includes original storylines not found in the manga with repeated appearances and stories containing these original characters.

Viz Media obtained foreign television and home video distribution rights to the Bleach anime in March 2006. Bleach was broadcast in the United States on Adult Swim from September 2006 to November 2014.

Bleach follows the adventures of the hotheaded teenager Ichigo Kurosaki, who inherits his parents’ destiny after he obtains the powers of a Soul Reaper—a death personification similar to the Grim Reaper—from another Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki. His newfound powers force him to take on the duties of defending humans from evil spirits and guiding departed souls to the afterlife and set him on journeys to various ghostly realms of existence.
