For a couple of weeks now there has been great expectation regarding “a big announcement” that the franchise had prepared. Tokyo GhoulIn fact, a countdown had been posted on the website, and in addition, the tenth anniversary of the original work was going to be commemorated.

With all this context, the hype was very big and there was a small hope that a remake of the anime would be announced, but nothing could be further from the truth. The big announcement they had prepared is a Art exhibition which will debut in October this year in Japan.

Sui Ishida is the original creator of the Tokyo Ghoul manga and it was one of the most successful franchises of the past decade, but its anime adaptation was a huge disappointment. The first season received mixed reviews, but was well received, although it did not meet expectations.

The whole disaster started with “Tokyo Ghoul √A”, the second season, in which they changed the entire story of the original manga and followed their own line. Obviously, these decisions were not well received.

As if that weren’t enough, the final nail in the anime’s coffin was delivered in “Tokyo Ghoul: Re,” the third season. Here they tried to “fix” mistakes from the second season but ended up creating even greater narrative chaos.

All of us who are fans of the manga have a small hope that one day we will have a remake that brings out all the potential that this manga has, for now, we will continue waiting.

The series has a Latin dubbing, which was done in Mexico under the direction of Elliot Leguizamo.
