A sequel to the hit anime Tokyo Revengers was announced on June 16, 2024, much to the delight of the fans of the series.

The announcement came during “Matsudo Touring,” an event celebrating the anime’s fourth anniversary and the formation of its official fan club. However, the release date and other details regarding the sequel are yet to be revealed.

A promotional video showcasing highlights from previous seasons was also released to commemorate the announcement. Check out the video below!

Additionally, a new 5th-year anniversary project for the anime was also launched at the event. The year 2025 will mark 5 years since the Tokyo Revengers anime started airing. And the first event to be announced as part of the project was an image song live called “Dachi Live”.

Note: An image song live is a concert or live performance centered around “image songs.” These are songs specifically created for characters or groups within an anime, manga, or video game series.

Tokyo Revengers is a popular anime based on the manga by author Ken Wakui. The story follows Takemichi Hanagaki, a young man who travels back in time to save his ex-girlfriend from a tragic fate.

The anime’s first season premiered in April 2021, with subsequent seasons – which adapted the Christmas Showdown and Tenjiku Arcs – released in January and October 2023, respectively.

The anime was licensed by Crunchyroll and Muse Asia for streaming outside Japan.

The manga, serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine from March 2017, had over 70 million copies in circulation (as of December 2022). It concluded in November 2022 having published a total of 31 volumes.
