A Shueisha spokesperson has said that the twitter account posting Hunter x Hunter updates belongs to author of the manga Yoshihiro Togashi.
“I heard that it belongs to him,” the spokesperson was quoted saying by both Oricon News and Comic Natalie.
Hunter x Hunter fanbase was thrown into a frenzy when a twitter user claiming to be Yoshihiro Togashi hinted that the manga will be returning from hiatus. The bio of the account said that it will mainly give updates about the progress of the manuscript.
“Four more episodes to go,” Togashi wrote in his first tweet, suggesting that the manga might get up to four new chapters.
While the authenticity was initially doubted, there was a general consensus that the account belonged to Togashi himself after One Punch Man author Yusuke Murata himself confirmed it.
However, the doubts had not completely been set aside, as some fans compared it to a Hunter test.
Meanwhile, Megumi Han, who voices Gon in Hunter x Hunter anime, had raised questions about the ‘4 episodes’ that Togashi mentions in his tweet.
“Four more episodes. Four more episodes to settle the succession to the throne? Is it four more episodes until we reach the Dark Continent? Is it 4 more episodes until Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio meet again? Is it four more episodes until Gyro appears? Will the series resume after four more episodes? Are there only four more episodes until the final episode? Is there really only four more episodes?”
Togashi’s twitter account, which has 1.2 million followers at the time of writing, is also followed by Shonen Jump+ editor Shihei Lin.
It is worth noting that neither Shueisha nor Shonen Jump have released an official statement about Hunter x Hunter manga returning from hiatus.
