Why am I So Obsessed With Capsule Hotels in Japan?

The more this project grows the more we here at Animag want to take a trip and visit japan. With that being said one thing that I would personally like to do is spend a night in a capsule hotel. Long before we ever had Animag this was something that I sunk countless hours into watching videos of people staying at various types of these particular places to stay. The quietness and affordable prices both lure me in being from America where one night in a roach infested hotel will run you anywhere from 50 to 100 US dollars It’s easy to understand why i would be so drawn to the idea of a capsule hotel.

Recently I came across this particular video of someone traveling and deciding to stay at a Capsule hotel that cost them 4,980 yen / 40.08USD for one night. This place first of all looked amazing and clean, had many options for you to enjoy like free food, drinks, and manga to read. And how could I forget the blazing fast free WIFI. That’s just to list a few obviously..  Take a look for yourself by watching the video below.

Then I came across THIS particular video that is essentially a capsule hotel on steroids. The video states that these First Cabin places are basically the same price as a capsule hotel, and honestly I cant understand why. Rather than getting a pod to sleep in you wind up getting an entire little room to yourself! Sure this place didn’t offer you free food or drinks, but they did have free manga to read in the lounge, and gave you a free toothbrush and slippers. Take a look at the video below.

Let us know down below which one you preferred the most.  I personally would have to go with the capsule hotel seeing as it has this really cozy atmosphere for such a small space.  But these First cabin places will also now be something that I will be adding to our list of things to check out.

That first one would be where I’d have to go.
