Yuji Kaku Teases He Is Working On Something New

Jigokuraku mangaka Yuji Kaku teased on his official Twitter account that he was working on something he’s “never done” before. He mentioned that the work will be announced as soon as it is done.

“It’s been a month since I noticed while raising beetles and trying ‘a type of work I’ve never done’ … (The above work will be announced as soon as it is about to be released.)” Kaku wrote.

Kaku’s previous work, Ayashimon, came to an end abruptly in the Weekly Shonen Jump on May 30, 2022. He shared panels from Ayashimon in his tweet.

The mangaka also updated that Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku anime is steadily underway and to wait for the official announcement.

“Hell’s Paradise animation is steadily being prepared. We would appreciate it if you could wait for the official information to be announced. Thank you for your continued support!”

The Jump Festa ’22 event had revealed a new teaser trailer and visual for the television anime adaptation of Yūji Kaku‘s Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku manga. The video revealed the anime’s staff, including the show’s animation studio MAPPA.

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuji Kaku. Set in the Edo period of Japan, it follows the ninja Gabimaru and the executioner Yamada Asaemon Sagiri as they search for the elixir of immortality.

It was serialized weekly for free on the Shōnen Jump+ application and website from Jan 22, 2018, to Jan 25, 2021. The chapters were collected and published into 13 tankōbon volumes by Shueisha. Viz Media has licensed the series for English release in North America.
