Leaks that surfaced on Twitter on Dec 21, 2022, revealed that Yoshihiro Togashi’s Hunter x Hunter manga will be going on a hiatus again.
The manga will be taking a break after chapter 400 keeping in mind the author’s health. Chapter 400 will be published on Dec 18, 2022 as scheduled before.
The editorial department said that the release date of Hunter x Hunter chapter 401 will be decided after having a discussion with Togashi. The manga will be serialized in a non weekly format going forward.
“Togashi sensei will continue to write the following chapters, and the editorial department will continue to support him until the completion of the manga,” a translation of the message from Weekly Shonen Jump’s editorial department read.
Hunter x Hunter‘s date of publication will be revealed in a future issue of the magazine.
Hunter x Hunter manga had returned from its hiatus of nearly four years on Oct 24, 2022. The manga’s 37th volume was released on on Nov 4, 2022.
Togashi had earlier revealed that he had finished working on chapters 391-400 of Hunter x Hunter manga, which will be compiled in volume 38.
Since volume 25, each volume of Hunter x Hunter manga consistently had 10 chapters in them. Currently 36 volumes of the manga have been published.
Togashi was also working on the drafts of chapters 401-410 of Hunter x Hunter.
Hunter × Hunter is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 1998, although the manga has frequently gone on extended hiatuses since 2006. Its chapters have been collected in 36 tankōbon volumes as of October 2018.
The manga currently has published 390 chapters.
Hunter × Hunter was adapted into a 62-episode anime television series produced by Nippon Animation and directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi, which ran on Fuji Television from October 1999 to March 2001. Three separate original video animations (OVAs) totaling 30 episodes were subsequently produced by Nippon Animation and released in Japan from 2002 to 2004.
A second anime television series by Madhouse aired on Nippon Television from October 2011 to September 2014, totaling 148 episodes, with two animated theatrical films released in 2013.
